The Electrical Foundation Youth Train In Trades program at HSS WILL NOT BE OFFERED DURING THE 2021 2022 SCHOOL YEAR.
When in session
The Electrical Foundation program gives students the opportunity to learn the practical and theoretical skills of a first year apprentice. Students graduating out of this program will receive their level 1 training credits and 350 hours towards the completion of their first year apprenticeship program.
Students attend school from 9 am – 3:15 pm Monday to Friday. The course is taught by (TBD) who is a Red Seal Electrician. There is a strict attendance policy and students are expected to arrive to class on time ready to work each and every day. Students divide their time between classroom study/instruction and shop work. Each student is required to provide their own CSA approved Steel-Toed boots.
If you are interested in the Electrical Foundation Program
- Complete the Application Form and submit it to your school counselor or the Career Program Office at HSS
- Submit an updated resume to the Career Program Office at HSS
- Provide a letter of reference – can be from a teacher, counselor, employer, family friend, etc.
The Career Program Office will contact you for an interview
Once you are accepted into the program you will need to attend an online information session TBD and you will be required to fill out the KPU Registration forms and pay the course materials fee of $430.
