The Carpentry Youth Train In Trades program at HSS Will NOT BE OFFERED DURING THE 2020 2021 SCHOOL YEAR.
When in session, the program is offered in partnership with KPU. Students attend school from 9 am – 3:15 pm Monday to Friday. The course is taught by Mr. Carson who is a Red Seal Carpenter. There is a strict attendance policy and students are expected to arrive to class on time ready to work each and every day. Students divide their time between classroom study/instruction and shop work both inside and out. Each student is required to provide their own CSA approved Steel-Toed boots and rain gear.
If you are interested in the Carpentry Program
- Complete the Application Form and submit it to your school counselor or the the Career Program Office at HSS
- Submit an updated resume to the Career Program Office at HSS
- Provide a letter of reference – can be from a teacher, counselor, employer, family friend, etc.
The Career Program Office will contact you for an interview
Once you are accepted into the program you will need to attend the information session on at 7:00 pm on November 15th at HSS where you will be required to fill out the KPU Registration forms and pay the course materials fee of $410.
